An Englishwoman in Italy (Blanchett) plants a bomb in an executive office, only to learn that instead of her intended target, she's killed four innocent people, including two children. She's a vigilante, but her enemy is a big-time drug dealer responsible for the death of her husband and many others. While she -- and eventually Ribisi's smitten police officer, who helps her escape -- seems to expect punishment, the screenplay, by the late Krzysztof Kieslowski and his partner Krzysztof Piesiewicz (Blue, White, Red), which was designed to be part of a trilogy along with Purgatory and Hell, compromises what could have been a fascinating moral study. EXTRAS Unused ''Space Cam'' aerial shots of the Tuscan countryside are a highlight, but director Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run) rather overstates the beauty of the film's deleted scenes.
