Other than their unusual moniker, Year of the Rabbit offer little in the way of innovation. Frontman Ken Andrews, formerly of alt-rock no-hopers Failure, seems to have conceived YOTR as a showcase for his engineering abilities (he's twiddled the knobs for Creeper Lagoon and A Perfect Circle, among others) -- and to be sure, the massed guitars and melodic vocals will sound great on your Harman Kardons. But while the production may be symphonic, the content's bland as pudding.
