Murder Income

At the movies, sequels are doing great but not-quite-gangbuster business, and the same is true of Ashanti's Chapter II, which sold 326,000 copies its first week. It's a far cry from the 502,000 that Ashanti's debut opened with last year --but that was sold at bargain-basement prices, thanks to label-sponsored rebates. She did best the 317,000-unit opening posted last week by Beyonce, who got bumped to No. 2 this time. The only other top 15 entry came from Buddy Jewell, who won on TV's Nashville Star and bowed with 52,000 sales. But how will Buddy II: Full Throttle fare?
