Celebrity Face Match

Rating celebrity likenesses in videogames -- How do Drew, Nemo and Steve McQueen look?

More and more videogames based on movies are including famous likenesses. But how well do these digital doppelgangers match their flesh-and-blood counterparts? To get an assessment of three recent examples, we went to an expert: Jim Kempton, a sculptor at Madame Tussaud's wax museum in London, who has immortalized everyone from the Dalai Lama to Today show weatherman Al Roker. Here's his appraisal of three new digi-celebs. -- GK

DREW BARRYMORE Charlie's Angels Kempton judged this rendering to be the best of the bunch. Weighing in via speakerphone -- oops, we mean e-mail -- he opines that it offers ''a good sense of Drew.'' Thumbs up from the wax man.

NEMO Finding Nemo Nemo is Kempton's second favorite, even though he grumbles that the creature happens to be ''a computer-generated character.'' Still, there's no need to flush this clown fish down the drain.

STEVE McQUEEN The Great Escape The famous WWII film is now a game, and Kempton wants to throw this likeness of the late action star right back to the cooler. ''Even though you are easily able to tell who it is,'' he says, ''it is not a very subtle likeness.'' Then again, that might be a post-breakout disguise.
