After reading the article on Stan Lee, I remembered how much I enjoyed comics as a kid. Spider-Man and Hulk were two favorites. This led me to purchase a current copy of each. For my money (close to $3 apiece), I was treated to sex, brutality, and severe angst. Where were the heroics and, more important, where are the comics for kids? Asian Influence

I was very glad to see Hollywood's current fascination with Asian cinema get some coverage (News & Notes). Now, how about putting the spotlight on the abominable manner in which Miramax and Dimension have treated the Hong Kong action and martial-arts genres over the past few years? Their poorly dubbed and heavily cut releases of Jet Li and Jackie Chan classics, as well as the upcoming Shaolin Soccer, are causing immense damage to the American public's perception of Asian filmdamage that a handful of star-studded remakes can't even begin to repair. Who is ''the world's best rock band''? According to Evan Serpick's review (Music), Radiohead is. However, if you flip back a page you'll find the real answer: two A+ reviews of Led Zeppelin's latest releases, How the West Was Won and the Led Zeppelin DVD. Not to mention five A-level rankings of Zeppelin albums. If Radiohead releases a live CD and DVD 25 years from now, will anyone care? Mr. Serpick's superlatives don't hold water. Zep still rules!
