Details Release Date: Jul 22, 2003; Lead Performance: Eve 6

In theory, it's nice to find a young band that doesn't play umpteenth-generation punk-pop. But Eve 6's slower, broader-based style -- which, on their third album, includes extra acoustic instruments and more emotion -- still doesn't manage to stand out from the tentative alterna-rock of acts like 3 Doors Down or Our Lady Peace. It's a mature sound. Next step: an identity.
