'Hulk' Mail
To call the Hulk the quintessential renaissance of the intelligent blockbuster a bygone era of such wonders as The Godfather, Alien, and Jaws would be quite an understatement (Movies). The Hulk offers a world where characterization and plot are not an afterthought to CGI and hackneyed dialogue. To criticize this substance-filled comic-book adaptation for focusing too much on story and not enough on special effects leads me to believe that at least in this instance, Lisa Schwarzbaum has become another victim of the ''now'' society of today's moviegoer. The ''now'' moviegoer would rather be deafened and blinded by explosions and computer animation than be required to think and question a story that refuses to conform to the current blockbuster recipe. Comics Relief
In perusing my issue, i was thrilled to find your Comics section. I have enjoyed comics for the past 11 years (much to my husband's chagrin), and I am happy to see comics getting more mainstream exposure. Comics have the stigma of being for kids or simply not real reading.
