'Kids' R Us

No, you're not seeing things -- but take off those silly glasses anyway! In the first-ever weekend to see five movies top $20 million, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over scored the summer's biggest surprise, grossing $33.4 million and nearly earning back its entire budget. Dimension's third junior James Bond installment beat out costly Tomb Raider 2, which imploded at $21.8 million (the 2001 original opened at more than twice that). Showing on 1,233 fewer screens than TR2, Seabiscuit raced to a respectable finish with the highest per-screen average, meaning it should do well over the long distance. And Finding Nemo now floats just below the all-time top 10 (see below) with a $313.1 million take.
