Watch for Ashton Kutcher and Will Ferrell to resurrect two more shows from the classic-TV graveyard and turn them into movies for Warner Bros. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kutcher is keen to star in a big-screen ''Dukes of Hazzard,'' while Ferrell is attached to play inept spy Maxwell Smart in an adaptation of ''Get Smart.''
Kutcher is such a ''Hazzard'' fan that he dressed as Luke Duke for Halloween last year. (Did he walk around saying, ''Dude, where's the General Lee?'') Playing Bo Duke would be a guy who knows something about hotrodding, ''2 Fast 2 Furious''' Paul Walker. In a nice bit of non-traditional casting, ''Kangaroo Jack'''s Anthony Anderson would play nemesis Boss Hogg. And who would fill out Daisy Duke's hotpants? One name mentioned has been Britney Spears, who's appeared with Kutcher on his MTV series ''Punk'd,'' and who's already developing a movie about fast cars, the NASCAR-themed ''Trading Paint.''
Ferrell's agreement to play Agent 86 has moved the ''Get Smart'' project out from under the cone of silence. After years in development, the adaptation still doesn't have a script, much less an actress to play Agent 99, Maxwell Smart's inexplicably adoring girlfriend. Ferrell is expected to help pick a screenwriter. Better get on that shoe-phone, Will.
