Welcome to the Monkey House (2003)

Now that alt-rock radio has banished electronics, what do the Dandies do but go and make a synth-pop album (coproduced by Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes). But the ballsiness of that U-turn offsets the slim whimsy of the material. Courtney Taylor-Taylor alternates low, breathy verses and falsetto choruses, arriving at an unlikely but not unwieldy combination of New Order and later Sparks.
