The Real WorldLeave it to a reality show cast member to find a new and creative way to get arrested. The Smoking Gun reports that Adam King, known to viewers of the current Paris season of MTV's ''The Real World,'' was arrested in the wee hours of Aug. 18 in Statesboro, Ga., after reportedly flagging down a police cruiser, then taking off on foot when the officer pulled to a stop. The police officer caught up with the 24-year-old minutes later and charged him with two misdemeanors, a count of prowling and loitering and a count of being a pedestrian under the influence, Chief Deputy Gene McDaniel of the Bulloch County Sheriff's Department told EW.com.
McDaniel told EW.com that King spent three hours at the county jail and was released after paying a $260 fine. Had he gone to trial, he could have faced up to $1,000 in fines and a year behind bars on each count, McDaniel said.
King, who describes himself on MTV's website as ''the life of every party,'' was apparently visiting Paris housemate Clyde ''Ace'' Amerson, a sixth-year Georgia Southern University student and self-proclaimed ''eternal fratboy'' who owns three college bars in Statesboro. MTV declined EW.com's request for a comment on the King incident.
