Details Release Date: Aug 27, 2003; Writer: Andy Diggle; Publishers: DC Comics, Vertigo

This is a strange book to come from DC's Vertigo imprint, in that there are no demons, warlocks, mutants, or elemental pseudo-gods. Instead, writer Andy Diggle gives us action -- hot and heavy. A band of government spooks are screwed by ''the man'' and left for dead, and the only thing on their to-do list is get revenge. Diggle writes with a Hollywood-by-way-of-the-U.K. savvy, and uni-named penciler Jock supplies the vibrantly intense art. It's too early to tell if ''The Losers'' can keep up this level of smackdown, but it's worth sticking around to find out.
