Renewal is a new experience for Bonnie Hunt. "I'm grateful to be back for a second season," says the star/executive producer. "It's my fifth attempt [at a series]. I've been on every night of the week." Her semi-improvised sitcom was boosted by cameos from Robin Williams and Tom Hanks last season, and the parade of celebs rolls on: Lizzie McGuire's Hilary Duff is slated to croon a duet with host Bonnie on her morning talk show. Plus, "for the first show we have Jack LaLanne, who, believe it or not, is still exercising." After his house burns down, producer David (David Alan Grier) shacks up with Bonnie and her family while the Smothers Brothers (playing contractors) repair it. Also, best-guest-star Emmy nominee David Duchovny will return as tacky weatherman Johnny Volcano, and, according to Hunt, "now he's taken up dance." We smell a Tony! (Sept. 26)
