EXPECTING

News from the Home Office: David Letterman, 56, revealed on the Sept. 11 Late Show that his longtime girlfriend, Regina Lasko, 42, is pregnant with the couple's first child.... Two and a Half Guys' Charlie Sheen, 38, and wife, actress Denise Richards, 32, announced that their first child will arrive in spring '04. Sheen has a daughter, Cassandra, 18, from a previous relationship.

BIRTHS

Actress Carrie-Anne Moss, 36, recently welcomed her first child with husband Steven Roy. The Matrix star won't discuss details.... This is as good as it gets for Greg Kinnear -- and it's pretty good: The actor, 38, and wife Helen, 33, had their first child, Lily Kathryn, Sept. 12 in Los Angeles.... Good Morning America weatherman Tony Perkins, 44, has someone new to say good morning to: He and wife Rhonda, 41, had their first child, son Connor Bennett, Sept. 15 in Fairfax, Va.

ARRESTS

A man was arrested Sept. 16 for trying to cut the water line supplying David Blaine, 30, as he hangs in a Plexiglas box over London's River Thames for 44 days. Police are reviewing security. The magician said he ''felt sorry for the guy.'' No word on whether this is the same chap who pelted him with eggs.

COURTS

Hank Williams Jr. and Jett Williams, children of the late Hank Williams (left), won a suit against Legacy Entertainment Group. On Sept. 5, a Nashville court ruled that the legend's ''lost songs,'' including 42 previously unreleased covers, are the heirs' exclusive property. Legacy says it plans to appeal.... Apple Corps., the holding company owned by Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, and the estate of George Harrison, announced that they're seeking an injunction to stop Apple Computers from using the company's name and logo on iTunes, plus damages, claiming the computer company is violating a 1991 agreement. Apple Computers said in a Sept. 12 statement: ''Unfortunately, Apple and Apple Corps. now have differing interpretations of [the 1991] agreement and will need to ask a court to resolve this dispute.''

Laugh-In regular Larry Hovis, 67, also known as Hogan's Heroes' Sergeant Carter, of cancer in Austin, Sept. 9.... Charlie Harris, 87, bassist on such Nat ''King'' Cole hits as ''Unforgettable'' and ''Mona Lisa,'' Sept. 9 of cancer in Baltimore.... TV trailblazer Mike Stokey, 84, who was awarded one of the first Emmys for hosting the 1940s show Pantomime Quiz, Sept. 7, of natural causes, in Las Vegas.... Animator Jules Engel, 94, responsible for some of Mickey Mouse's trippiest Fantasia experiences (including ''Dance of the Hours,'' below, from the 1940 Disney epic), Sept. 6 in Simi Valley, Calif.... Termone ''T-Bone'' Hannon, 39, Jewel's bass player for the past three years, Sept. 4, after suffering a stroke in his hometown of Detroit. The folk singer -- turned -- pop star has postponed her tour, which was to start Sept. 19 in South Carolina.... Cartoonist Warren Kremer, 82, who helped create Richie Rich, among other characters, and transformed Casper into the Friendly Ghost, July 24 of complications from pneumonia in Glen Ridge, N.J.
