Phish bassist Mike Gordon won't face charges for the time he spent with a 9-year-old girl backstage at a Dead show last month. A judge dismissed charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and trespassing on Friday, after prosecutors said they couldn't prove their case, according to the Associated Press. The prosecutors asked the judge for the dismissal, and said that the girl's parents also wanted the charges thrown out, the AP reported. "I'm glad all the charges against me have been dismissed and I can put this misunderstanding behind me," Gordon said in a statement, according to MTV News. "I'm grateful for the support I've received from my friends and family."
Police arrested Gordon last month after the 9-year-old girl's mother complained of being unable to find her at the Dead show, held at New York's Jones Beach. Gordon was found with the girl in a boathouse backstage, according to AP. After the incident, Phish issued a statement from the girl's family and Gordon that said, ''It is now clear to all involved that this was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and we look forward to putting this matter behind us."
