'Beauty' Call

DVD buyers awoke to a slew of new videos this week, but it seems they only had eyes for Disney's 1959 cartoon classic ''Sleeping Beauty''. The fact that one of Uncle Walt's lesser efforts magically rose to No. 1 says a lot about the competition -- which was, chiefly, the sci-fi disaster flick ''The Core'' and the Chow Yun-Fat comic-book adaptation ''Bulletproof Monk''. Still, more than a few Chow fans wanted to see him blazing away with a gun in each hand; Monk made it to the top of the rental chart. The same can't be said for George Clooney's directorial debut, ''Confessions of a Dangerous Mind'': The weird Chuck Barris biopic didn't even crack the top 10 its first week out.
