Harry PotterAfter playing a strict English professor in ''Wit,'' Emma Thompson may go back to school next year -- as an instructor at Hogwarts Academy of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The British actress is in discussions to play the spacey Professor Trelawney in ''Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,'' her publicist tells EW.com. Trelawney is the divination teacher known for her inaccurate predictions, which include constant warnings of doom for Harry Potter.
''Prisoner of Azkaban,'' which includes now-teenage returning stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, hits theaters next July. The combination of the older cast with new director Alfonso Cuarón (''Y Tu Mama Tambien'') is said to mean a more adult tone for the movie -- which may mean some snogging at Hogwarts. Meanwhile,Thompson will next appear as Hugh Grant's sister in Nov. 7's ''Love, Actually,'' in which snogging seems a certainty.
