Kevin James

In what must be a record for speedy turnaround time in Hollywood, Kevin James has landed a movie deal for an idea he pitched after the fateful Chicago Cubs-Florida Marlin's playoff game. That match, in which a foul ball-catching Chicago fan interfered with play and helped dash long-suffering Cubs fans' hope of a World Series berth, occurred Tuesday night, and by Thursday morning, the ''King of Queens'' star had a deal with Revolution Studios for a comedy feature inspired by the fan's foul-up, the Associated Press reports.

James will develop and star in the movie, playing a similar fan who interferes with a play and has to deal with the consequences. A spokesperson for the Sony-affiliated production house said James' movie would be loosely inspired by Tuesday's incident but not a direct retelling, and that James would not be playing the real-life Cubs fan, whose name has been withheld by some media outlets, lest he face the wrath of the entire metropolitan Chicago area. Since he's the King of Queens, maybe James will make the character a Mets fan instead.
