Jameson admires the actresses Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, and her absolute favorite, Kate Hudson. ''I just think she's fabulous,'' she says. ''Almost Famous! Oh, God! When they all sing 'Tiny Dancer!' Gimme a second. [Sniffle! Sob!] I want to be able to come across that way. That endearing, draws-you-in, you-just-really-like-them way. Because you can't help but love her.'' See, what she wants, what she's been after all along, is your heart, public adoration on a grander and grander stage. In the end, almost famous isn't good enough. ''You're never big enough, never.''

Everything's going according to her teenage-girl plans, and that's what worries her. ''I'm on top of the hill right now,'' she says. ''There's nowhere to go but down. Okay, this is going to lead to this, then this, then all the sudden, I'm going to be living under a bridge.''

Remember when Jameson dropped out of beauty pageants back when she was a kid? She didn't bail because she was sick of winning. She chucked it all because she was scared of losing, because a girlfriend she knew was prettier and more talented was eliminated from the Miss Teen Nevada competition before her. ''I saw her lose and I didn't want to break my streak, so I quit,'' she says. And after a decade in porn, Jameson plans to get out while the getting's good. She's the industry's lone star, and her videos still outsell the 18-year-old youngsters 10 to 1. She'll retire a winner.
