It's amore for Sex and the City's Evan Handler, 42, who married Italian-born medical researcher, Elisa Atti, 33, Oct. 12, in NYC. It is the first marriage for both.

SPLITS

Though she's rumored to be heading to the altar on screen, Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon, 37, and her longtime companion, photographer Danny Mozes, 37, have called it quits. The pair, who actually split this summer, has two children, Samantha, 7, and Charlie, 10 months.

BIRTHS

Legally Blonde's Reese Witherspoon, 27, and husband, Igby Goes Down's Ryan Phillippe, 29, welcomed their second child, son Deacon, Oct. 23. The couple has a daughter, Ava Elizabeth, 4.

CRIME

An estimated $1 million in jewelry was stolen from rapper Nelly's Las Vegas hotel room, Oct. 27, while the 29-year-old was in Sin City for the 2003 Radio Music Awards. Fellow Aladdin hotel guest Michelle Branch, 20, reported that computer equipment was taken from her room the same night.

COURTS

It was the sweet smell of success for Jennifer Lopez (left), 33, who settled a trademark-infringement lawsuit Oct. 22, over the name of her perfume Glow by J. Lo. Beauty purveyor Glow Industries, Inc., filed suit against the singer in August 2002, claiming the company suffered a loss in future market growth because of the publicity surrounding her product. Although the settlement's exact terms remain undisclosed, Glow Industries' lawyer confirmed the company will use the moniker for a limited time while Lopez retains the right to own and use the Glow by J. Lo trademark.... Not only have Kid Rock, 32, and Pamela Anderson, 36, broken their engagement, but he's now being ordered by Independence Township, Mich., zoning officials to remove outbuildings from his property that they allege he added without approval. If he fails to comply within 90 days, the case will be referred to township attorneys.... Tom Sizemore, 41, was sentenced Oct. 27 to six months in jail for beating and harassing his ex-girlfriend, onetime Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss, 37. His lawyer could not be reached for comment.... On Oct. 14, a Houston-based producer, Terrence ''T. Robb'' Robinson, filed suit against Destiny's Child and their manager, Mathew Knowles, for $200 million, claiming that the trio's 2001 hit ''Survivor'' was a direct rip-off of his song ''Glorious.'' The group's lawyer said the singers ''always respected copyrights'' and called the lawsuit ''bizarre.'' Robinson's lawyer could not be reached for comment.

CONTROVERSIES

On Oct. 28, the National Labor Committee accused marathon man Sean ''P. Diddy'' Combs (left), 34, of allegedly using Honduran sweatshop workers to produce his Sean John clothing line. A rep for the line said they ''will look into the matter immediately.''

DEPARTURES

Daniel Kellison, executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live, announced that he will leave the late-night talk show after less than a year. Duncan Gray, who works on ABC's alternative and specials offerings, has been named Kellison's temporary replacement.
