Diddy did it. Despite only eight weeks of training, a complete lack of marathon running experience, a recurring knee injury, and cramps that kicked in about halfway through, Sean ''P. Diddy'' Combs finished Sunday's New York Marathon, coming in 11,359th out of 35,100 runners. Not only did the 33-year-old rap mogul finish in 4 hours,14 minutes, and 54 seconds, but he also said his run raised $2 million for child-related charities, twice the funds he expected. ''I've never experienced mental or physical pain like that,'' Combs told reporters after finishing the 26.2 mile course. "But it was a beautiful experience.''
The hip-hop mogul, who chronicled his training on MTV, ran the race to raise funds for the Children's Hope Foundation, the New York City public schools, and his own Daddy's House charity. According to the New York Post, a number of his celebrity friends kicked in pledges, including ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez and Jamie Foxx ($26,000 each), J. Lo's fiancé Ben Affleck ($52,000), Bruce Willis ($50,000), Jay-Z ($25,000), Ashton Kutcher and Chris Rock ($20,000 each), and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg ($10,000). Next year, Combs tells the Post, he'll run for charity again, but he'll keep the distance to between three and 10 miles.
