Despite dramatic reports of last-minute heroics, Jessica Lynch never fired a shot at her Iraqi captors, the former prisoner of war told Diane Sawyer. Lynch's first interview airs on ABC on Tuesday. ''My weapon did jam and I did not shoot, not a round, nothing. I don't look at myself as a hero,'' Lynch told Sawyer, according to Reuters. ''I'm just a survivor. I'm not about to take credit for something I didn't do.''

Lynch, whose authorized biography also comes out Tuesday, said that the true heroes include Private Lori Piestewa, who died when Lynch's convoy was attacked, and the soldiers still fighting in Iraq. Despite medical records indicating that Lynch was raped in captivity, she told Sawyer she doesn't remember it: ''Even just the thinking about that, that's too painful.'' When Sawyer asked if it was true that she went down ''like Rambo,'' Lynch replied: ''No, I went down praying on my knees.''
