It could be the basis for a sad country song: On Thursday morning, Wynonna Judd was arrested for drinking and driving in Nashville after a city police officer pulled the singer's Land Rover over for speeding. Judd posted a $500 bond and was released.

According to the arrest report, Judd smelled of liquor, had dilated pupils, and couldn't remember how many drinks she'd had. When the star consented to a Breathalyzer test, her blood alcohol level was .175, more than double the .08 minimum for a drunk driving charge.

While drunk driving is a misdemeanor in the state of Tennessee, Judd could face a fine, community service, or up to 48 hours in jail. If convicted, her license may be revoked for up to one year, although she may be able to apply for a restricted driver license, which would allow her to drive to and from work or an alcohol treatment center, but nowhere else.

This hasn't been Judd's only bump in the road. Her new album, ''What the World Needs Now Is Love,'' was largely derided by critics (EW described it as ''excruciatingly full... of inspirational lyrics,'' giving it a C). They should be relieved now: Judd's already singing the blues.
