HALL OF SHAME Spector is charged with murder

Michael Jackson isn't the only music legend having legal trouble this week. Producer Phil Spector, 62, has been charged with the murder of B-movie actress and sometime hostess Lana Clarkson, whose was found dead of a gunshot wound in Spector's Alhambra home Feb. 3.

Spector has been free on $1 million bail following his arrest shortly after Clarkson's death. A reclusive loner known for outrageous behavior (he allegedly pulled a gun on the Ramones and Ronettes singer and ex-wife Ronnie Spector has accused him of holding her hostage and threatening to have her killed by a hit man during their marriage), Spector has previously denied any wrongdoing in Clarkson's death. In an interview with Esquire magazine, Spector stated that Clarkson may have shot herself.

Spector, who made his first million at 21 and produced the Beatles' ''Let It Be'' album (which, ironically, has been stripped of Spector's Wall of Sound flourishes to be re-released as ''Let It Be... Naked'' this month) was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Unfortunately, that may not be the legacy for which he is remembered anymore.
