Piven Crazy

Thanks so much for the short but sweet article about Jeremy Piven (News & Notes). He has been my favorite actor for several years. I only hope that one day he will finally get the recognition that he deserves for being such an amazing actor. DEBRA ENGLISH DebiE1972@aol.com Hubbard, Ohio

'Joan' of Art

Ken, Ken, Ken. Please step away from my beloved Joan of Arcadia with your hands over your head (Television). Are we watching the same program? You see a contrived, gimmicky show about a vengeful, unforgiving God. I see an original, family-friendly show with a positive message about God working in the lives of people who would least expect Him to. Please give up on Miss Match and resign yourself to the fact that God moves in mysterious ways.... JENN BRASLER luckyjenn@hotmail.com St. Davids, Pa.

Clap On!... Clap Off!

Thanks for acknowledging the hand clap, one of pop's most underused yet most enjoyable rhythmic expressions (Music). Let's hope that hand claps' being so hot right now will encourage other artists to use 'em with abandon. I have to say, though, some of your choices were kind of lame. John Mellencamp? How about the Go-Go's (for some old-school claps that rock) and the Mooney Suzuki (whose whole album Electric Sweat feeds off that hand-clap vibe)? KRISTEN GRAYEWSKI Kermit702@aol.com Villanova, Pa.

How in the name of god did you forget to include the single greatest hand-clapper song of all time''Private Eyes'' by Hall and Oates...don't hold that mustache against 'em! JON CROWELL Outfield4ever@wmconnect.com Biloxi, Miss.

CORRECTION: A photo accompanying a story about It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World showed Adlai Stevenson to the left of Milton Berle and Bobby Kennedy, not Stanley Kramer (News & Notes).
