Tori Spelling is engaged. The ''90210'' alumna will marry actor/playwright Charlie Shanian next summer

On ''Beverly Hills, 90210,'' Tori Spelling's Donna made Brian Green's David wait 10 years, until the series finale, to marry her. In real life, Spelling and her new fiancé will wait only until next summer. Her publicist announced Monday that the actress will wed actor/playwright Charlie Shanian in mid-2004, the Associated Press reports.

Spelling, 30, and Shanian, 34, met lest year when they co-starred in the Los Angeles production of ''Maybe, Baby It's You,'' a two-person play co-written by Shanian and consisting of 11 comic sketches about finding romance.

The daughter of TV hitmaker (and ''90210'' producer) Aaron Spelling, Tori will star next month as a modern-day Scrooge in the Hallmark Channel's holiday comedy movie ''A Carol Christmas,'' and she'll have a recurring role next year on the WB sitcom ''The Help.''
