'Coupling' Undone

Please don't try to tell me that americans are not embracing NBC'S Coupling because we just don't get the British humor (News & Notes). The show bombed because they completely miscast the characters with actors who lacked the BBC version's great comic timing. I'm tired of the networks insulting our intelligence with bad American copies of great British shows (a la Men Behaving Badly), instead of letting us watch the originals. Until the networks get a clue, I am keeping my dial tuned to BBC America. MARIE SPARK Alameda, Calif.

'Everwood' Working

Thank you, Ken Tucker, for your glowing review oF Everwood (Television). Everwood is far better written, far better acted, and far better produced than most of the so-called hits on the major networks. I know it will never happen, but the show and its cast deserve serious consideration when Emmy nominations roll around. MARVIN ROBERTSON RobertsonNivram@aol.com Roseville, Mich.

I couldn't agree more with Ken Tucker's review of Everwood. Week in and week out, the episodes are well written and well acted. It is the one show that my wife and I sit down to watch and enjoy, together, every week. Now if I could only get our 17-year-old daughter to see what she is missing. Unleash the Hound!

I have a suggestion that will not only save you money but improve your magazine greatly. Fire Stephen King and hire Triumph the Insult Comic Dog to write your back page (Stupid Questions). Bravo, Triumph! BRIAN DEATON drdeaton_2000@hotmail.com Hazard, Ky.

CORRECTIONS: Kirsten Dunst's hairstyling on the cover and in a photo on page 34 of our Holiday Movie Preview (#737, Nov. 14) should have been credited to Jonathan Antin/Jonathan Salon/Mercury Artists Group.

Our Katey Sagal feature in issue #738 (Nov. 21) printed an incorrect age for the actress. She is 47.
