As ''Fame'''s Leroy Johnson, Gene Anthony Ray was a tough-talking dancing machine with a penchant for spontaneous street performances. The leg-warmered star of the 1980 film and its spin-off TV series died at age 41 of complications from a stroke, Nov. 14, in NYC. Costar Nia Peeples remembers him as ''an amazingly raw and gifted performer who touched the lives of millions of people and inspired many a wannabe to be.''
