Choice Cuts

Here are the People's Choice Award nominees. Polled voters like Ray Romano, Oprah, NBC shows, country artists

Couch potatoes tend to stick with their favorites. The list of nominees for the 30th Annual People's Choice Awards (picked, like the winners, via a Gallup poll of the public) looks nearly identical to last year's list, with such repeats as Ray Romano, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Eminem, and Faith Hill.

Everybody really does love Raymond, apparently. Frequent winner Romano was nominated again for Favorite Male Television Performer, and his ''Everybody Loves Raymond'' was cited for Favorite Television Comedy Series. In that category, the show is competing against ''Friends'' and ''Will & Grace,'' whose stars Jennifer Aniston and Debra Messing were nominated for Favorite Female Television Performer. Those actresses will be competing against Oprah Winfrey, who will also compete for Favorite Talk Show Host against David Letterman and Jay Leno.

In all, NBC was the most nominated network, with 11 citiations, followed by CBS (which is airing the awards show) with eight. Starting Thursday, fans can visit CBS.com and vote on two categories, for their favorite new TV drama and comedy shows.

In music, fans leaned toward Nashville, giving five of the nine slots to country artists. Johnny Depp was the only newcomer among the six nominated movie performers, though Hanks, whom he displaced, is up for Favorite All-Time Entertainer. Nominees for favorite movies will be announced later, after the deluge of 11th-hour holiday releases hits theaters.

''Two and a Half Men'' not only made the cut for Favorite New Television Comedy Series, but it's also providing the show's hosts. ''Men'' stars Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer will emcee the show during a live broadcast on CBS on Jan. 11 from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The nominees announced so far are listed below.
