Now that Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin are (according to People magazine) house-hunting together in London, they'd better find a place with a nursery. The Oscar-winning actress' publicist confirmed on Wednesday that Paltrow is expecting the couple's first child next summer. The 31-year-old actress and 26-year-old singer were ''pleased'' to confirm the impending stork visit, according to a terse statement issued by Paltrow publicist Stephen Huvane, who did not say whether there were any plans for the couple to wed.
Rumors of Paltrow's pregnancy had been circulating for more than a week. On Monday, according to the New York Daily News, she was ''fairly bursting out of her $1,000 Stella McCartney black silk and chiffon flapper dress'' when she hosted an awards gala at New York's Lincoln Center. Maybe McCartney can design a maternity-minded gown for Paltrow, who may need one if she gets nominated for another Oscar for her current starring role in ''Sylvia.''
