Bobby Brown

Police in Georgia's Fulton County want to talk to Bobby Brown after wife Whitney Houston alleged that he'd struck her with an open hand across the face, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Police said they responded to a call from Houston at her suburban Atlanta home on Sunday night and found her with a cut lip and a bruise on her left cheek. ''It was a verbal confrontation which escalated to a physical confrontation,'' police spokesman Kurtis Young told the paper.

The singer did not file charges, however, and Brown had already left the house to fly to California before police arrived, the paper reports. Nonetheless, the police may decide to file charges, since the case is now under investigation as an alleged incident of domestic violence. On Tuesday, police told the Associated Press, they were still trying to reach Brown via phone and to decide whether to pursue charges against him.
