Think of it as an eggnog-induced one-night stand: short, sometimes awkward, occasionally fun, and nothing more than an excuse for sex. Deveraux gives us the standard tale of beautiful heiress and preservationist Holly Latham, who's determined to marry her childhood crush, a lawyer who matches her social status and owns a prized historic estate. Her plans go astray when she meets a dashing stranger who's great in bed but beneath her (class-wise, that is). The stock characters and silly plot all come together in a ridiculous holiday-season conclusion.
