'X' Marks The Spot

There was a supreme brawl for video-chart dominance this week: While Jim Carrey's omniscient Bruce Almighty was no match for the mutants of X2 in sales, his godlike powers compelled renters to lift him above the superhero legion. In other disc news, consumers -- anticipating the final installment of the LOTR trilogy -- couldn't get enough of The Two Towers, bringing the standard version back into the top 10, after an eight-week absence, to join the extended edition, released last week. Looks like it's the return of the king.
