Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are getting down and dirrty. The rivalry between the two Mouseketeers-turned-pop-tarts is heating up, at least in the pages of Blender magazine. In the December issue, while discussing the pair's notorious mutual smooching of Madonna during August's MTV Video Music Awards, Aguilera said of Spears, ''She seemed very distant, even during rehearsals. Every time I tried to start a conversation with her -- well, let's just say she seemed nervous the whole time. ... She seems to me like a lost little girl, someone who desperately needs guidance.'' In the January issue, Spears responds, ''I can't believe Christina said that about me.''
Spears then tells about a run-in with Aguilera at a nightspot, after the two hadn't seen each other in years. ''She comes up to me in a club in front of all these people and tries to put her tongue down my throat,'' Spears says. ''I say, 'It's good to see you,' and she goes, 'Well, you're not being real with me.' I was like, 'Well, Christina, what's your definition of real? Going up to girls and kissing them after you haven't seen them for two years?''' (So is that where they got the idea for their VMA stunt?) Concludes Spears, ''A lost girl? I think it's probably the other way around.'' Hey, ladies, why not settle your differences once and for all by mud-wrestling? The pay-per-view rights would be worth zillions.
