WON'T WALK AWAY, RENEE Aghdashloo is gaining momentum

Dave Karger sizes up the Best Supporting Actress race

Predicted Winner Renée Zellweger, ''Cold Mountain''
Possible Upset Shohreh Aghdashloo, ''House of Sand and Fog''
No Way Patricia Clarkson, ''Pieces of April''; Holly Hunter, ''Thirteen''; Marcia Gay Harden, ''Mystic River''

Renée Zellweger certainly seems to be a steamroller these days, with major supporting-actress wins at the Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Broacast Critics Awards, and SAG awards. Now that she’s handily beaten the likes of Patricia Clarkson, Holly Hunter, and Marcia Gay Harden several times, perhaps her only true challenger is the woman who’s been left out of many of the other award races: Shohreh Aghdashloo, who’s gained momentum since her surprise Oscar nod. (Remember: Harden herself wasn't nominated for a Globe the year she won the Oscar for ''Pollock.'') Still, Zellweger's lead just might be too big.
