Writer: Brian Michael Bendis; Publisher: Marvel

What to do when your comic is one of the best reads going, but the explicit content limits its prospects? In the case of writer Brian Michael Bendis' ''Alias,'' you close up shop and relaunch the book for all audiences. The change feels organic: Former costumed crime fighter Jessica Jones, who had been running her own PI agency, has now segued into a newspaper gig as a superhero-coverage consultant. Bendis may have disarmed all those F-bombs, but he's still dishing up revisionist superhero material that seems kinda, sorta real.
