Rise To Honor

Jet Li may not be a videogame junkie, but that hasn't stopped the actor from lending his likeness to this fast-paced martial-arts brawler. Set in San Francisco and Hong Kong, the action spans more than 60 stages as Li's character, Kit Yun, searches for a crime lord's daughter. Each level features a remarkable cinematic flair and big-budget stunts, but the game's ill-conceived control scheme can be frustrating. Instead of pressing buttons to precisely direct Li's actions, players execute moves by tapping the right control stick -- a technique that, at times, feels no more interactive than flipping through TV channels with a remote. The production values may be first-rate, but the bizarre controls end up slightly dishonoring an otherwise solid effort.
