As the Black Eyed Peas might have asked, Where is the Love? Specifically, where is Courtney Love, who missed two court appearances Wednesday involving drug charges brought against her in October, according to Reuters. In one case, where she faces felony charges of possession of unprescribed painkillers, Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Elden Fox issued a bench warrant for the absent singer's arrest. Told by her lawyer, William Genego, that she was absent due to unspecified ''security concerns'' but was on call if needed, Judge Fox agreed to put the warrant on hold until Feb. 17, but Love faces arrest if she fails to appear in court that day.
The 39-year-old rocker, who on Tuesday released ''America's Sweetheart,'' her solo debut and her first new album in six years, also missed a court date in Los Angeles, where she was to face a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg told Genego that Love's repeated postponement ''is getting old,'' Reuters reports, though she agreed to put the trial off until Feb. 23. Love has denied all the criminal charges against her.
