Chris Sarandon: He played Jesus -- what's he done since?

WHAT IT IS A straightforward, minute-by-minute account of the moments leading up to Christ's death. Despite intriguing political overtones (Pilate's character reminded some critics of Richard Nixon), critical response was only so-so.

COSTARS Keith Michell (Murder, She Wrote) as Pilate; Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean) as Herod

HIS CAREER B.C. He played Al Pacino's cross-dressing love interest in the critically acclaimed 1975 drama Dog Day Afternoon.

HIS CAREER A.D. He was the Prince of Darkness in 1985's Fright Night, donned stockings again as Prince Humperdinck in 1987's The Princess Bride, and has mostly done forgettable telepics and B movies since.

FINAL JUDGMENT Unfortunately, turning water into wine might be easier for him than matching the successful career of ex-wife (and Oscar winner) Susan Sarandon.
