Sound Check
When I read ''Noms That Were Bombs'' in the Oscar issue, I was surprised at the position Steve Daly took. Even if a film is not critically praised, it could still have merit in technical areas such as sound or editing. The artisans and technicians shouldn't suffer just because a film was bad if their work was exceptional and deserved to be nominated. KAREN HADSELL Snudette@aol.com Homer Glen, Ill.
Trial and Error
I take issue with the inclusion of Scott Peterson in your article on celebrity trials (''Crime-Time TV,'' News & Notes). Certainly, Martha Stewart, Michael Jackson, and Robert Blake are celebrities, each having been in the entertainment industry for years. Peterson, however, has risen to notoriety only because of his alleged involvement in his wife Laci's murder. Had it not been for that, America would have no idea who he is. CORRECTION: Strong sales of Josh Groban's latest album, Closer, have kept it near the top of the pop charts since its November '03 release (#747/748, Music).
