Lord performs assertive power-pop melodies on her new album, but she sings them in a voice so airy and indifferent, it takes away their punch. While vocals as frail as hers can communicate vulnerability or a coquettish charm, she lacks the expressiveness to bring off either, especially in her cover of the title song by Badfinger, which ends up sounding power-pooped.
