''You gotta see the bay-bee!'' That's what Jerry Seinfeld was probably saying to himself on Friday night when he left his current tour to fly home and tend to his injured toddler. The comedian postponed a sold-out show scheduled for Saturday in Spartanburg, S.C., and returned to New York upon hearing the news that year-old Julian had been hospitalized after taking a tumble.

Seinfeld publicist Elizabeth Clark did not specify how the fall occurred or the nature of the boy's injury, but she suggested that any lingering worries over his condition were, like ''Seinfeld,'' about nothing. ''Julian is at home and is doing very well,'' she said in a statement. ''Jerry's tour will continue this weekend as scheduled.''

Julian is the second child of the zillionaire comic and his wife, Jessica Sklar; he has a 3-year-old sister, Sascha. Daddy's upcoming projects include the first set of ''Seinfeld'' DVDs and a cameo on former colleague Larry David's ''Curb Your Enthusiasm.'' As for Spartanburg ticketholders, they'll get rain checks for a show on Nov. 13.
