Deep Pockets (2004)

In her 10th outing, red-haired, giant-size P.I. Carlotta Carlyle enters the privileged world of Harvard, where an African-American professor is panicking that he'll be fired after a dalliance with a student. Most inconveniently, the student turns up dead. Naturally, there's more to the story than one man's bad judgment -- like the mysterious background of the dead girl, her criminal ex-boyfriend, and the prof's bonkers, filthy-rich wife. In other words, plenty to keep a reader chasing after the delightful Carlyle while she chases after the bad guys.
