In danger of permanent enshrinement in the famous-for-being-famous club, Jessica Simpson can once again safely place ''popular singer'' alongside ''celebrity'' on her resume. In This Skin crawled from No. 16 to a surprising No. 2, on sales of 159,000 -- thanks to season 2 of Newlyweds, a radio hit (''With You''), and expanded CD packaging with a bonus DVD and new tracks. Norah Jones took top honors for a fourth week, moving 204,000 units. At No. 13, Cee-Lo's sophomore disc was the closest thing to a notable debut, selling 56,000 on the up-and-up.

WHAT'S THAT SONG...
...that added a bit of '80s flavor to teen drama The O.C.'s March 3 episode? It's a cover of OMD's new-wave classic ''If You Leave,'' recorded exclusively for the show by power-pop band NADA SURF.
...playing over the first few shots and closing credits of the season premiere of HBO's The Sopranos? A particularly bittersweet slice of country-rock heartache -- EMMYLOU HARRIS' ''Heaven Only Knows.''
...on the Jackass-inspired commercial for the Mitsubishi Galant? It's tasty '70s glam-rock nugget ''Ballroom Blitz,'' by SWEET.
