After more than two decades of re-inventing herself, Madonna is making it official. In an announcement on Monday, she confirmed rumors that she'll be embarking this summer on her first world tour in three years, and that the event will be called the ''The Re-Invention Tour,'' Reuters reports. This time around, it's her songs that will be re-invented, with new arrangements for familiar hits. ''She can't wait to get back on stage to recreate her songs from the earliest days of her career up until the present,'' manager Caresse Henry said in a statement.
Henry said Madonna is already rehearsing for the 13 dates scheduled so far in North America, starting May 24 in Los Angeles and continuing through Aug. 1, when she plays Miami. After that are shows in London and Paris. Additional dates will be announced in the coming weeks.
