Die-hard O.C. fans know the chemistry between lovebirds Marissa and Ryan has nothing on the lust inspired by Summer and emo-licious Seth. So it's a tad disappointing that, with its heavy dose of light, electronica-infused rock (South, Doves), this first of four soundtracks would inspire only the lamest of make-out sessions. Only a few of the sunnier pop tunes (Spoon's excellent ''The Way We Get By,'' Phantom Planet's ''California'') manage to raise the heat.
