TELEVISION What's a ''life coach''? Let's ask X2's Famke Janssen, who just agreed to play one for 12 episodes of Nip/Tuck's second season on FX. ''It's someone who comes in and helps a person with their life, mostly on a spiritual level,'' explains Janssen, who'll be advising Joely Richardson's character on life matters -- as well as serving as general show femme fatale -- starting July 6. ''It's a newer profession, I suppose.'' Is she gonna grill a real-life life coach to prep for the part? ''I'd like to,'' says Janssen, who starts shooting next week. ''Do you know any?''... In other FX news, OutKast ikonoklast Andre 3000 will play a komic-book vendor on the June 15 season finale of The Shield. Hey, really? Ya! ''He's a fan of the show,'' konfirms a network rep.... Jon Stewart, who is (according to the March 19 EW) funnier than any other person in America except Chris Rock, just signed up for four more years as host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show. That will take him all the way up through the 2008 presidential election, which the Deal Report predicts Hillary Clinton will win in a landslide.

MUSIC Prince is back. Let's go crazy! His first tour in forever starts this week, and after a long ride as an indie rocker, he's just signed with Columbia, which will release his Musicology on April 20.

MOVIES ''I'm a hair washer, and I aspire to be a hairdresser,'' says Miss Match star Alicia Silverstone, referring -- thankfully -- to the country-girl character she's just signed to play in Beauty Shop, a Barbershop spin-off costarring Djimon Hounsou and Queen Latifah.... More star power than you can wiggle a nose at! Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine are negotiating to play Nicole Kidman's mom and dad in the movie version of Bewitched. Will Ferrell, who we say is funnier than any other American except Chris Rock and Jon Stewart, plays Darren.
