A young Jackson Browne doppelgänger crooning like a Y-chromosomed Vanessa Carlton, Ben Jelen reeks of sincerity and emo-pop angst. But while Give It All Away, his piano-heavy debut, sometimes sinks under the weight of his, um, intensity (the melodramatic first single, ''Come On''), most tunes charm, bounce, and moan with an acute sense of melody and super-produced pain. WB teen dramas just found their new soundtrack It Boy.
