While filming officially wrapped Aug. 20, Raimi still had to add one more insert shot at the beginning of April that required both Dunst and Maguire to suit up again -- just when they thought it was over. So it's understandable that Dunst's fantasies about the next installment involve more closure.
''I always say I want to die in 'Spider-Man 3,''' she laughs. ''I think it would be so fun to die a really cinematic death -- like Spider-Man accidentally runs her into a wall.''
Dunst isn't likely to get her wish. ''Spider-Man 3'' already has a release date of May 2007, and Sony exec Amy Pascal is thinking the hero and his love might live long into the future. ''I guess there's something natural about doing things in three,'' she says. ''But I hope that these guys want to keep going. I certainly know that's what we're all hoping.''
