Seth, Summer, Ryan, and Marissa will be back in school this fall -- and Jack Bauer will have yet another long, hard day. Fox has renewed ''The O.C.'' and ''24,'' along with ''The Bernie Mac Show,'' ''Malcolm in the Middle,'' and ''Mad TV'' for the '04-'05 season, according to Daily Variety. The network previously renewed ''That '70s Show,'' ''King of the Hill,'' and ''The Simpsons.''
Fox Entertainment president Gail Berman told Variety that the four just-renewed shows are ''the backbone of Fox's scripted programming.'' The network hasn't decided, however, whether the Eliza Dushku drama ''Tru Calling'' or the critically adored sitcom ''Arrested Development'' will return, according to Variety. Start those write-in campaigns now.
